1964 Volvo 122 Amazon LS Swap
Well ever since I sold the 245 I've been wanting to build another Volvo, and I've always been a huge fan of the 122's
...So I did a deal and got one.
Guy took it down to metal, patched all the rust and painted it. It's wavy, but bond/rust free.
Meanwhile I bought a built Ls1/6 speed Camaro for $500 and parted out the $2k+ in suspension and other parts and kept the drivetrain.
Motor made 394/377 Cam/Intake only.
Car will get the Weld RTS that were on my 245.
Stay tuned!

In all honesty, that's the best part about having a hotrod shop in central Texas. While this was a really good deal (qai setup, full BMR goodies, receipts for everything and a freshly rebuilt t56) it's not uncommon to find them running for $2k. A buddy also owns a wrecking yard and has a contract with the city of Austin for most accident towing, and he sells me pullouts for practically nothing. Hell I usually get 4.8/5.3's for free.

Thanks! It's nearly done as I haven't posted in that thread in a very long time.
I really miss my turbo 5.3/t56 Volvo Wagon, but I've always wanted a 122.
Managed to get it off the trailer today and drove it to the back of the shop where it will live for a while.
And...
17x9 Weld RTS are possible on a stock rear end! Need another 5-10mm spacing, but seeing how I will have to narrow an 8.8 for this car as well (similar to what I did in my 245), I don't want to fit these wheels to this rear end since I'm chunking it. Just wanted to see what it looked like. And well, I can't freaking wait.

Went to the junkyard this morning and pulled a really nice posi 3.73 8.8
I think on this one I might narrow both sides to get it closer to the stock 122 axle. Undecided yet on that part though. It all depends if I can find a place to locally turn down and re spline the shafts.

Not to mention they weigh around 2400lbs
Pulled apart the 8.8 earlier getting ready to narrow it. I don't think the shafts allow less than 2" cut/splice due to the inward taper.
So, I'm going to do what I usually do, which is just take 2-15/16 out of the passenger side tube and run the smaller shaft in both sides. Axle will end up being 1.25" longer per side, which will likely push the wheels out a bit.
Looks like I'll be making some fender flares

Welding up the motor mounts using some of the sliders I had made for the 240 crossmember project that never happened.
Also, pretty sure this tiny transmission tunnel won't fit a t56, so I cut the tunnel off the donor Camaro before we scrap it tomorrow. Debating on using the center console/e brake etc.
