Stand alone fusebox wiring questions
I have a current performance SA-1000 Fuse box I'm going to mount under the dash on the passenger side, It still has the relays for both fans, ignition power, fuel pump and so forth. I took out the starter and AC relays since I am using the OEM safety neutral and vintage air

My question is, I'm going to replace and lengthen the power to this fuse panel and route it to the engine bay. It currently has what looks to be an 8 guage power cable attached to it.
Do you think I can swap this out for 10 gauge and still be enough to power the fuel pump and fan relays? Or should I keep it 8 gauge?
And my last question, for simplicity can I attach this power wire to the starter lug the battery cable is attached to or will I need to go straight to the battery? It would clean things up if I went to the starter lug instead.
Just throwing it out there, but I would do whatever is safest and more reliable obviously....just wanted to ask

I would keep the 8 gauge as well. FI cars can draw a lot of amps.
routing it to the starter lug is better than to the battery. Your alternator output should go to the same place.
If you don't want to try running all that fat cable to the starter than consider a junction lug on the fender somewhere.
