Has anyone done this swap on a older body style GM truck. I have complete dropout accessories harness ecm, etc.

There are plenty of talented wrenches on here that have swapped 6L80 equipped engines into all sorts of early iron, and a few with late model swaps as well, use the search function for "6L80" and "gm lan" "can bus" "BCM" you will find some answers.
Start with diagrams for each vehicle and see what's the same and what's not.
