Interference between GTO dipstick and motor mount -- Help?
'03 5.3 Vortec truck LM7 going into a 78 Checker Marathon Taxi (no, not a typo)
I'm swapping the 5.3 truck pan for an 05 GTO front sump pan.
The GTO pan has the dipstick tube going directly into the pan above the drain plug. This puts the dipstick right through the motor mount saddle (I'm using the Dirty Dingo slider mounts).
I could put the GTO dipstick into the 5.3 block hole, but then the dipstick won't reach the oil.
See picture -- small sharpie mark below pan hole is approx. where dipstick reaches oil level; red line is where dipstick tube would go if I used the pan hole.
Anyone have any ideas for me?
Thanks.

Can you shorten the GTO tube?
NM, I just went out & looked...
You cut the tube to give the proper reading full on the stick.
Then use a flair tool to open the end a bit so the dipstick cap goes on tight.
