First LS swap......need help 68 Chevelle

I prototype all the Holley swap systems using the Prothane mount since it is 1-3/4” tall just like the stock rubber mount it is intended to replace. I don’t know why Energy Suspension designed their standard mount to be so tall, but the do make a shorter one (3.1158) that is about 1/4” shorter than the Prothane mount even.

I will look at it and measure again, I think that it may have even been a little over 2 inches with the bumps, mostly is was about getting clearance around the left side of the trans one of the connectors and the towards the ends of the trans it was hitting the tunnel on the right side. I also am running the stock body mounts.
Would the 2 inch provide the optimal pinion angle or should I try to go for the shorter mount?

The trans mount won't affect the pinion angle, but it certainly will affect the U-joint operating angles, which you'll want to be more than 1/2 a degree and less than 3 degrees when you're all done. Don't confuse the U-joint operating angles, which are calculated, to measured angles of your trans yoke, driveshaft and pinion. Those measured angles are used to calculate the u-joint working angles. If I were you, I would get the trans mount as high as possible without experiencing interference. If your body bushings are old, that can cost you clearance as well since the rubber deteriorates and shrinks with age.

Speartech harness ordered......driveshaft just got here, its installed. Fuel lines are assembled and ran, along
Upper radiator hose, I don't like how it turned out. I am going to re-do it
3 inch chromoly driveshaft

Some updates over the last couple weeks
Speartech harness, it was a breeze to install, and the customer service was top notch
Electrical gauges, tried to make mechanical gauges work....3 adapters and still no luck with the mechanical water temp gauge.

Speartech harness installed, and Air raid U build it kit for CAI, along with some pieces from Spectre.
Awaiting PCM to be flashed, and exhaust, but otherwise, its all wired up and ready to go.
Still need a coupler for the MAF, but this is the layout of the CAI
Air raid U build it kit. I didn't like the spectre chrome tube, and wanted to make sure I could customize it.
Mighty Mouse catch can, and the Speartech harness installed. Needed a extension for the MAF, but thats on me, harness was a breeze to install.
