Default Fox Body Cold Air Intake

1987 Mustang Fox Body with LQ9 swap. I need to come up with a better air
intake system. What we have now is feeding 125 degree air into the throttle body. See Pic. Looking for ideas and / or kits that might be out there for this application. Any ideas or pics would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Why not run it through the inner fender just like a regular fox cold air intake?

Probably your best option here.

I was unaware on where the factory intake was on these cars. After researching online,
it appears the factory intake was routed to the passenger side inner fender. I guess what was throwing me is there is no hole or opening in that area on this car. Probably is the best option, but I will need to cut a hole to get the air filter outside of the engine bay.

Looks like someone patched up the factory hole.

You could do something like this. Get the 4" boot from Spectre and make a clean cover for inside the core support to cover up all the unsightly holes etc.. run your air cleaner outside of your engine room to avoid higher intake temps.
