Default Block hugging Exhaust Manifold

So, I am swapping an l99 into a 1969 Cougar and I am looking for a set of exhaust manifolds of headers that will allow me to not have to notch my strut towers. The stock LS3 manifolds hug the block nicely, but the outlet on the drivers side lands right on top of my steerin linkage and the GTO set I tried sit too far from the block to fit. Does anyone know a manifold or header that sits as close to the block as the camaro but had a flange that starts around the third runner? Do truck manifolds sit as close to the block as the camaro manifolds? Thanks in advance for any help.

I think the problem with the Holly manifolds is that they leave the exit flange in the same place as the stock Camaro ones. Please correct me if I am wrong on this. If it doesn't have a different exit location it will still interfere with my steering shaft.
