Default Usability of 5th gen Camaro console gauges?

The other day I picked up a console with gauges out of a 2010 Camaro to put in my Chevelle, but only after I paid for it did I realize that the gauges in it probably got their info from the computer and not directly from the sending units.
The console hasn't arrived yet for me to check, but am I right about that? I guess in my non-thinking mind I just planned to hook them up like I would aftermarket gauges, but if that isn't an option I guess I'll be selling them. Has anyone else tried using them in a swap project?
Gracias

They get their information off of the CAN bus. I used the 5th gen console in my car but opted not to use the 5th gen gauges.

That's what I figured. Will just throw the gauges up on ebay and look for some sort of gauge pod to go there. Thanks
