Default 6L90e manual shifter position help? (Silverado 2500HD donor)

Hey all,. I have a 6L90e in the LSx Powered KIA Sorento and had some questions about the shifter positions. Currently everything works fine. I built an bracket and modified the arm so the throw on the trans end matches the factory shifter positions in the Sorento. However my issue is this... The Sorento only has P, R, N, and D. Then from the D position you can move the shifter lever over into the factory tap shift mode for the Kia trans. On the 6L90 though there are a handful of positions that go further. I was wondering what all these were for.
The donor vehicle was a 2009 Silverado 2500HD. I never saw the console on it so I have no idea if all of these positions the trans has are available or what they were for. I plan on using the Kia's tap shift to run the tap shift option on the transmission but I don't know if this is accessible through the D position on the transmission or if it needs to be in a different position.
Could someone with a GM truck give me some info on your shift positions?
Thanks in advance!!

D1, normal automatic operation. D2 manual/tap shift on truck, sport mode/TUTD on cars. To the best of my knowledge, nothing below D2 changed anything on my A6.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping I didn't need a different shift position for tap shift but sounds like I'm going to. Damn!!
I am going to do some tinkering with an Arduino and CAN BUS card and see if I can use it to drive the tap shift function just like the BCM would do on the trucks. I think that it should be possible to just send the shift command from the Arduino to the trans.

I will be changing things up completely before too long anyway because have a supercharger from an LS-A that will be going on soon. I am going to switch over the ECU to an LS-A ECU so that I can get all the extra sensors in. I'm personally not a fan of running speed density tunes. I would rather do it the "right" way so that I have much greater management of fuel and timing.
