I would suggest finding a 4l80e to put behind the 6.0, 60e wont last long. are you going to buy a standalone harness or re-pin your factory vortec harness? the swap is pretty straight forward in the 96-99 trucks. I am working on a 6.0/4l80e swap into my 96 k1500 pickup

Get a complete pullout engine. Engine with all accessories, flexplate, starter, harness, computer, hoses, and even underhood fuse box. It will make your swap much much easier.

there is a guy on here who has the pinout sheet for converting the factory vortec harness over to work with the LS, "lextech" is his username. send him a PM with the motor/vehicle info you are swapping and he will send you the right pinout sheet. that donor truck should have a 4l80e behind the 6.0 so I would keep that along with everything JoeNova mentioned as well. if your truck is 4x4 take the transfer case as well, that is where I messed up and am now trying to source a transfer case that bolts up to the 4l80e I have
