Default Help on the drive belt

I have a 69 chevelle that I did a 5.3 swap first I bought dirty dingo acc for a truck and had new Advance auto power steering pump and it would brake the power steering pulleys I put 3 pumps and pulleys on.After fighting to get the belt to line up I Bought ls1 simple acc all lines up great I also bought a new Gm truck pump and a metal ls1 simple pulley It a has a cooler on the power steering pump after putting 300 miles it broke a belt guess you could say it cut the belt in 1/2 .I don't know what else to do FYI it has the stock gear box

I would take a straight edge and check to make sure everything is lined up. Also see if your tensioner is worn out.

If a belt is going to break it will do it within the first few hundred miles or somewhere north of 100 thousand miles. There might be nothing wrong, maybe you just had a defective belt. If everything is straight, all bearings turn smooth and the tensioner is not maxed out or anything then just try a new belt. Get a goodyear or other good quality unit.
