Default Swapping a 2007 5.3 for a 2010 6.2?

I have a 1968 C10 with a 2007 5.3/4L60 powertrain in it. I am wanting to put a 2010 6.2 in with a stage 2 VVT from Texas Speed. I am wondering if I can use the harness and ECM and if the 4L60 with a 3000 stall and transgo kit handle the power of the 6.2??
Thanks
Trevor

Is the 5.3 Gen IV? If so everything should hook up. You might have to beef up the tranny though, and you WILL need to retune the ECM.

Yes, it's a Gen 4 with DOD so all the wiring for the VVT is there.

Probably a good idea.... IF you know how to work on them. Otherwise there are plenty of performance tranny shops that will make it just about bulletproof.

I've been inside a few of them. I put the updated one way clutch in when I got the powertrain cause that year they were having issues with it going. Not sure whats out there for performance upgrades, most of what I have done is just stock replacement parts in them. The sun shell is another bad part in the older ones.

Might want to check it all out before buying. Check tranny shop websites to see what they put into their builds. Many of them even say the brand names of the parts they use. Sonnax is a big one, but you likely know that already. I always like the feel of a solid-shifting tranny. Build it right, and it shall LIVE!
