The turbo kit on my '69 Chevelle also used stock manifolds with similar placement/design! Looking good..... keep it up.
Hopefully after nearly 6 years my car will be on the road this summer.... Mine uses an alum 5.3 from a Trailblazer with ported heads/LS6 intake/Precision GTS76 turbo/Chiseled Perf A/W intercooler.

installed my jegs camshaft 555-200582 .585 lift, brian tooley pushrods, and summit trunion bushing kit. one of the outer races on the original trunion bearings was cracked in two places so im glad i caught them in time. i used 5/16 wooden oak dowels for the lifters, although i had to pull a couple up with a magnet to get the cam out.
a pic before the snap rings installed.

some install pics of the springs and seals. i did buy the summit install tool for the trunnion bushings, and the brian tooley seal installer which both work great. but i made my own valve spring tool, not the prettiest but it worked great. it wouldve worked better if i centered the holes better on the spring plate, but thats easy enough to remake.
i decided to put my turbo drain in my timing cover. i just tapped the cover to 1/2 pipe. its a 45 degree 1/2 male pipe to -10 jic weatherhead fitting part # c5355x10. it has room behind the stock truck balancer.

i had to go with a different intercooler. im using a center in-center out now. cut holes in the radiator support to mock it up. it looks like ill have to massage the hood lever to make it fit still.

heres a few recent pictures. downpipe is just about done. i was goint to dump the wastegate into it, but i decided to dump it into the passenger side fenderwell instead. i still have to punch the hole in the fenderwell and route the pipe through it. my brother was able to weld a flange for the bov on the intercooler pipe.

i finally decided against an efi ready fuel tank mainly because of the added cost since i already have a bosch 044 to run externally. so my brother welded a sump to my tank and it came out great. now im just waiting to purchase the mastercool hydraulic flaring tool and getting the 37 degree adapters so i can make my fuel line.

thanks. i finally got it running, but i have to re route the exhaust. one of the v band flanges is only a couple inches off the ground. i might look into that oval pipe summit sells for more ground clearance or just dump it out of the fender. but i want to load my tune to the hptuners forum to see if i can get some feedback on the tune.

I finally got it tuned! I went to mike at syngarage very happy with results. 417 hp 447 tq at the wheels. I gotta set up a catch can because the pressure blew out my valve cover gasket. I wound up cutting my tranny crossmember and adding c channel to it, to move the exhaust into the floor a bit.
