Default Explain the Alternator Wiring Please

I'm working on finishing up my build and the alternator is slightly confusing me. I'm working with a stock f-body alternator and the Holley HP EFI system so there is no plug on the harness for the alternator. Because of this, it seems like I need to either add a resistor or a light to the single wire leaving the plug on the alternator before connecting it to a 12v source.

My question is more, is there a specific light I need or can I just run it to any light to do the job? I already have a light on my switch panel that I can probably use. And when does this light come on/go off?

Any light bulb. Best option is the dash idiot light for the alternator being dead.

The alternator doesn't give two ***** about the computer. You just need some resistance in the line or it will send too much current into the alternator and potentially destroy it.
