Well I picked up the 706 heads. They look really good. Pulled the Pistons out and honed all the cylinders today. While Installing the damn pistons I ended up breaking a ******* second ring on a piston so now I get to deal with that. Seems like **** is just going in a completely FUCKED direction.
I called a buddy who thinks he has a set of 4th gen rods and pistons he said I can have. Waiting to hear back from him.

Yeah I traded. It has no engine or trans. Has upr k member. Tubular a arms. Flaming river manual steering. Bilstein coil overs up front. Upr caster/camber plates. Lowering springs on the rear. Fuel cell in the trunk. 6 point roll cage. Trick flow girdle on rear end. Since it has the k member in it I no longer need the one I bought. I will still be swapping in the ls

Ok so.....I went to set the engine and trans in the car and neither oil pan. Clears the k member. I tried the muscle car pan as well as the floor body pan. I dunno if I'm missing something or what. There aslo wasnt much room in the trans tunnel around the 4l80e. Any suggestions with the k member....did I miss something ????

The issue you are fighting is the fact that the engine needs to be biased rearward for the F-body pan to clear the K-member, but needs to be biased forward to provide clearance for the 4L80 to fit in the tunnel with desireable U-joint working angles. If you position the engine/trans mating plane in the stock mod motor location, that engine and trans combo will install like a dream, but your pan won’t clear the K-member. The fix for your engine position is to divorce the engine mounts complete from the holes in the block so engine movement is not limited by that factor. Look at photos of the Hooker SN95 engine adapter plates in the Hooker SN95 LS swap system thread and you’ll see what I mean. Your oil pan is still going to be an issue and you’ll need to change it out, or leave the engine where it is and cut the tunnel out and rebuild it around your tranmission. I just realized your car is a 94 or 95 model year car and that UPR K-member is a 5.0 unit, which means the steering rack mount is positioned about 1.5” higher than it is on the AJE K-member you have. That is going to give you issues that will be impossible to overcome with good results in an LS swap situation.

I swapped out the upr k member with the aje one tonight. I test fit it on the engine before I bolted it in....all is good. The upr lower a arms bolted up pretty easy. Will get some pics tomorrow. As for the trans clearing the tunnel I'm not sure a out all that. I will have to wait and see once I get it set in and see what I'm dealing with.

You’re going to be having a different experience clearancing your tunnel than dan95gst also since the AJE K-member and engine brackets moves the engine and trans away from the stock right side engine offset towards the center of the car.

speaking of that pass side offset, that blew my mind when i was building my trans cross member because i thought i screwed something up somewhere when all my measurements were offset. then i did some frantic googling and finding that it was normal. man i was freaked out lol.
