How are you guys connecting 3/8 hard line to the 4L60E for the trans lines?

The 4L60E has 1/4 NPS fittings. I'm using 3/8 line. I can't find anything to adapt these tow together. I've tried Fastenal, McMaster Carr, parts houses, the interwebs. In my mind, if McMaster Carr doesn't have something then something has gone wrong.

I used a 1/4" NPSM to -6AN fitting. You can flare it to 37 degrees to match the -6AN and go from there....

Well, that would be great if I could make it work. I already purchased the 1/4" NPSM to -6 fittings when I had intended to use -6 steel braided line. Now that I've decided to use 3/8" hardline, I thought I wouldn't be able to use those fittings any longer. Would I have to use a special flaring tool to get it to 37 degrees? I'm not familiar with the types of flares and what is common and uncommon. If I flared it to 37 degrees, what kind of nut would I have to get to go over the cooler line? Would mating a hardline to an AN fitting require a double flar?

Your flaring tool should be able to flare a 37 degree angle, if not, they are relatively cheap. No, it won't require a double flare.... You would use a flare sleeve and nut. We call them "B" nuts around here...see the link..

OK, so I've found out that a 3/8" line uses a 5/8 - 18 inverted flare nut. I've asked this in another thread, but I'm now trying to find out what kind of fittings to get because all I'm finding in that size are brass but I believe brass and aluminum (my radiator is aluminum) don't mix well.
