Putting 5th gen lt1 into 75 camaro...transmission questions Hello everyone, for the past few week I've been putting together a spreadsheet for my camaro. I plan on gutting it and putting in a modern lt1 motor and new transmission. For the most part I haven't had any real issues yet...but that's primarily because I haven't bought anything.
So I know this will sound silly, but I really want this shifter in my car. What I initially planned on doing was swapping out the 350 I have now for a 700r4...but would that have issues with the lt1 since I won't be operated by a computer? Would I need a 4l60e? If so...would my shifter still work...or would I need another one entirely? Nothing has been bought, and my 350 motor still sits in the car so nothing is set in stone yet.
Any help would be appreciated, I'm very excited to start this project, I just don't want to run into major roadblocks because I didn't do proper research first.
