Default Sn95 5.3 questions

Hello all, I have a 1994 Mustang that I'm swapping a 2012 aluminum block 5.3 into (some sort of turbo cam, TBSS intake, 75mm or so turbo, 317 heads). I have a turbo 400 for it already, going to be going with an AJE or TEAM Z kmember and wondering if I need an Fbody oil pan or if the truck pan will work? The next question is the car currently has 3.27 gears but I also have a set of 3.55 gears in the garage. I plan on making 600-700whp. Stick with the 3.27? or go 3.55? Thanks.

The truck pans are awfully deep and you'll be giving up a lot of ground clearance if you attempt to use one. I actually used a CTS-V pan on mine, which seems to be a good fit with the stock and MM K-members; don't know whether other options work better with the more drag race-oriented K-members like Team Z and AJE.

using a truck pan on mine with holley mount adapters and solid motor mounts. pan hangs 1-2inches below the stock k member. its low but the ride height of my car isnt low. if you are lowering it definitely want to tuck it up. the muscle car pan is only 3/4in less than the truck pan so fbody would likely be the one you want or one of the holley pans.

Ok, thanks for the info. Do you know if the truck manifold/accessories will work and fit under the hood? Its got an aftermarket hood on it but its not like a giant cowl or anything.

Don't know about the 2012 model year specifically, but the earlier model truck stuff will not clear the stock hood. Below is a profile picture of the stock truck components (on a 2005 LQ4 block) in my 2003 Mustang (MM K-member, mounts fabricated/modified to get the engine as low as reasonably possible). You can get various aftermarket accessory brackets that relocate the alternator down a bit. The manifold is going to be a bit of a squeeze regardless.

I think I sourced a Fbody pan, might have a local lead for Fbody accessories. Probably going to try and find an LS6 manifold at this point.
