502 and 454 big blocks share the same basic block dimensions so if one fits, the other does by default. By the way, John Moss outfitted a 4th Gen Camaro with an all aluminum stroked 572 cubic inch big block motor so you may have to up your expectations a bit

Yup, lot of work though. Dont get your hopes up about keeping the air conditioning and such either.

I saw a 94 z28 with a 502 crate motor with a 6 speed(if I remeber correctly it was a 6 speed)
it was very nice and very very clean and it was for sell for about 35K ... not bad if you take into consideration they claimed they had time slips reading 10.40's

I used to to have a 93 that I was going to put a ramjet 502 in. I did alot of research into what it was going to take. I came to the conclusion that not to include the cost of the motor itsself (8900.00) the expenses would carry over 20K. that also didnt include the cost of any labor for fabbed pieces that I could not make myself. The entire engine conpartment needs to hacked up to make room for the size of the motor, relocation of struts, completely different K member, firewall has to be moved back, the area that covers the back half of your motor that the winshield goes into has to be hack to accomidate the ram set up.

Thats just the short list. It also doesnt cover the modifications to the rest of the drive train.

I was really serious about doing the project to my old car, but I have found it to be cheaper to build a new LS1 block for my new car and put a MEAN power adder on it and get more hp and less weight on the nose of the car.

About 4 or 5 yrs ago there was one in the World of Wheels show near me. The owner was a local fellow (from Cattletsburg KY), but I'm not sure how much of it he did and what was farmed out. It was a carbed 502 with a TH400 and a 9" with a 4" Mufflex exhaust. I think it was a 93 or 94 model. It was sick!
