~350rwhp LS1 RX7 goes 11.4 @ 120mph!
We went down to Montgomery Motorsports Park this past weekend, and I made a few passes. It was a great day to be at the track. Temps were high in the 80s throughout the day, and there was plenty of sunburn to go around.
The differences in the car this weekend and my last track visit were !spare, !Passenger seat(waste of time, it only weighs ~15-20lbs), and I bumped the rev limiter to 6,600rpms(stock tuning otherwise).
Mods on the car and motor:
B1 cam, ASP, ported TB
Important notes:
stock exhaust manifolds, stock runing, stock heads, stock rear
My third pass of the day was the one that counted:
Est. HP: 350rwhp & Est Weight: 2,800lbs w/o driver
60': 1.6 (stock Mazda IRS)
330: 4.8
1/8: 7.3
MPH: 95.58
1000: 9.6
1/4: 11.4
MPH: 120

The exhaust manifolds on the car seem to be a major downfall for the motor. Hopefully we'll have time to finish up some headers pretty soon.
Headers, cold air intake, moderate tuning, and some skinnies coming soon. 10s on stock heads and less than 400rwhp around the corner?

This car has a T56 and a 4.11 rear, right?
Are you able to get a taller R&P for an RX7? Seems like that might be a good area for improvement, no?
I currently have a 4.11 in my Datsun (which I have yet to even drive). I can get 3.54 though and I will do so ASAP.
This may be a stupid question (remember, I have yet to drive my car post swap), but have you tried launching in 2nd gear? Or are you already?

Re: ~350rwhp LS1 RX7 goes 11.4 @ 120mph!
It is now a 6spd(T56) car, but it was originally an auto car. The rear gear is a 3.90 for autos, and I don't think there is a lower option available in the aftermarket.
Traction is not a problem both on the street or the track with the stock Mazda IRS and our custom tubular torque arm. Although I can start the car in second gear, first gear is very useful. I was leaving at 4,000rpms in 1st gear to cut the 1.6 60' on ET Streets.
