Default [fuel pump] should I be worried?

I have the first autox with this car coming up in 2 days...

Took her for a test run tonight, after installing some software to record acceleration values just for fun...

Good news is, i was able to pull 1G under acceleration, and 1.2 Gs cornering

The bad news/ question... I had noise cancellation head phones on for part of the drive. When I took them off, the fuel pump was louder than usual. Just a higher pitched whine than usual (the pump is an inline 255 gph pump and is only a few inches from me behind an aluminum sheet metal).

I pulled over, shut the car off, restarted... everything sounds fine. pump is quiet again. Any ideas on why it would get loud? I was running low on fuel, so it's possible during cornering it got a little air?

Autox is about 90 miles away, so i'm a little worried...

It must have been sucking some air when you heard it's pitch increase......Just like one of those motors used to suck/pump water....when the water runs out...the motor revs up faster......keep the tank topped

well, that wasn't it... almost full tank today. pump gets progressively louder as i go... i'd say by 10 minutes into the drive it gets louder than when I started.

If I shut off, and start IMMEDIATELY, it's quiet again :skep:

I'm going to go to the event tomorrow. That's what tow trucks are for I guess
