East Meets West - 240 and LS1, 2, 6
Here are some pictures of the motor I built. Not sure if it is going into the S14.5 or the S13. I will figure that out soon. Some specs: LS1 stock bore block, LS6 Heads, Speed Pro Forged Pistons, TPIS ZL15 Cam, TPIS Double Valve Springs, Ls2 Timing Chain, Balanced Rotating Assembly, Ported Pump, DM Perf Girdle, LS6 Valley Cover, LS2 Intake, ARP Main and Head Studs, Fluid Damper, ABEAR Valvecovers.

Engine Test Fit Today
Well, after a long time the build is starting to progress. Rebuilt a '91 I got from a guy and when I had it all together he wanted to trade for a '96 SE so we did! Anyway, I used Corvette mounts and modified a R33 cross member and this is the result. I am using the stock GTO oil pan. I put on a GTO LS2 exhaust manifold and as you can see fit perfectly. I have a slight interference between the valve cover and the brake booster. I am not sure what I will do to fix that yet, but should not pose an insurmountable problem.
Next will be to attach the transmission and see what problems that causes!
Here are some pictures.

That's awesome that you found a stock solution for the exhaust. When I tried the LS2 manifolds the passenger side stuck out from the block too far and hit the frame rail. The cast LS6 manifolds are worth about 5 hp and might sit closer to the block, but they also sit further down closer to the pan. Maybe a truck or f-body for the passenger side? Before I went solid mount I acutally bought a set of corvette motor mounts to do the same thing you're doing. That subframe looks great!

Thanks. The passenger side has enough room for a Mack truck to drive through. Progress has been slow due to this cold weather lately! I did get a few small things done yesterday: Removed the brake booster. Unpackaged the transmission. The transmission had a locating stud stuck in it so I had to get that out which took more time than I would have liked. At least now I am ready to trial fit the engine and trans together. Then mock-up a trans crossmember and continue moving forward.
I have the rear subframe dropped and working on the bushings as well. I will take some more pictures as I get further along.
