Talking ls1 bolted to a muncie 4spd

i know it will bolt up , no problem BUT which flywheel would i use??

You need a different bellhousing (Pace performance sells one for under 300, lakewood has one for $375 that is blowproof). The input shaft length won't work using the stock bellhousing from what I've seen that's why you need an aftermarket one. Any Gen III flywheel will work (or you can get a 4.8 flywheel all day long on ebay new for $130), and from what I've gathered you just need to order and "LS1" clutch assembly with a 10 spline input on the disc. You can still use your mechanical linkage etc with it. Advanced adapters sells a kit that uses a "custom" flywheel and gives you a centerforce clutch and stuff to keep the factory bellhousing setup.

you can use ANY bellhousing that will bolt to a SBC or BBC. Then use the bearing that fits in the end of the crank that pilots the input shaft, and GM makes a spacific flywheel for the "old school" tranny. It's easy. I'm (well I was, anyway) putting a TKO500 behind an LS motor, the TKO is dimentionally the SAME AS A MUNCIE at the input. The only problem you're going to have is the clutch cross shaft (Z bar) mounting at the engine. Just make a bracket that will bolt to the bellhousing mount bolts and call it a day. there are pics of my TKO/LSx swap in my siggy.

If your 6.0 is 99-00', none of the kits will work because the crank is longer (I still haven't found a solution except for putting in the LS1/5.3 or 01+ 6.0 crankshaft. gary, where did you find the flywheel and what bearing did you use? Alot of guys say the extended bearing isn't the best way to do it. Info would be great! I haven't started my swap yet but will be soon so I've been researching like crazy

with the long crank you should be able to use an LS1 flywheel and clutch and then use a clutch disc for the Muncie spline.
