[QUOTE=jay_lt4;9728245]finally got to the track fri night and ran the 6.0 L92 combo,, ran great, not much track prep so i was spinning through 1st gear and still ran a 10.80 @ 128mph and i drove 220 miles round trip and only used just over 1/2 tank of 89 octane(same price as 87 octane at the pumps so i figured id splurge, lol)
this is a driver, i drive it everywhere
havent done any weight reduction yet either, 3200#, im thinking about taking some weight off and seeing what it will do. and i need a smaller carb, anyone looking for a like new 850 demon double pumper?[QUOTE]
WOW... those numbers make me very happy.. makes me sure my 9.90 hopes are VERY realistic. Awesome work man!

1.7 60ft, spinning through 1st for a ways as you can see in the vid
no cage, this was a rsd(real street drag) night at the track, clock display is turned off but you still get a slip just for your vehicle
they let the rules slide a bit on these nights

yes there is tech inspection,, i do have a drive shaft loop, 1/2" wheel studs, for the most part on these rsd nights they do a basic inspection, battery hold down, coolant overflow, throttle springs, no leaks, neutral safety switch, seatbelts, helmet inspection,
the clocks display is turned off the the only people that know what you run are you and the people in the tower, if your vehicle doesnt look safe or is all over the track im sure they would say something to you
these rsd nights are to get street racing in a legal place, betting is encouraged just like racing on the street, you can even do flag starts or spot people out a few cars if you want to
rsd nights are the first friday of the month at WIR in kaukana wi, and once a month at union grove by milwaukee also

you caught me,, yes 125 spray and yes on 89 octane i run it on 87 but when i stopped at the gas station on the way to the track the 89 was the same price as 87 octane
look at it this way- this is a used stock 6.0L(364ci) engine with a set of stock GM truck heads(L92), the only aftermarket parts in the engine are the camshaft and valve springs, there is no machine work to the block, heads, crank, rods, pistons,, all bone stock and it is in a full weight vehicle with stock suspension. this is not a drag truck, it is a street vehicle and gets driven daily
anyone here run an old-school small block 350-360ci ?,, what would it take to get in the 10's with it ?,,, you would need lots of aftermarket parts, aftermarket heads ported/polished, stroker kit, pistons, huge camshaft, all the machine work to the block, and still need spray if you are using it in a stock weight vehicle with stock suspension, and it would probly idle like crap and not be much fun driving down the interstate at 3500 rpm or idle all day in town stop and go traffic

yes the 850 is a bit to big, i had a 750 demon and should have kept it, but i got a good deal on the new 850 demon and i built my engine the same as the car craft L92 6.0L build and they had a 850 on there engine on the dyno
in the carcraft article on the dyno the 850 made more hp,, but that is not real world driving of the vehicle, my 750 had better throttle response, dont get me wrong, the 850 drives fine but just not as responsive and more lazy than the 750 demon i had.
i was looking around yesterday on e-bay and craigs list,, and i saw a predator carb for sale,, i think i might give that a try and just see how it runs, they always looked kind of neat and back quite a few years ago there was a couple guys in town here that had them and they were very quick cars
if the predator doesnt work out ill be going back to a 750 demon
i will be putting the 850 demon for sale sometime next week probly,, it would probly be perfect if someone had a larger cam or more cubes than what i have, and it is brand new

i dont know,, 2 days with the predator carb on and it is the best driving carb i have ever ran, idles good, no hesitations or surging,, drives great in town, any gear any load and you push the gas and it just goes, best throttle response i have seen, just instant response
