Default Belt Driven Fan for LS2

I'm using an LS2 out of Trailblazer SS in my pickup. I want to use a belt driven fan rather than going with electric fans because I do a bit of towing and need as much air flow as possible. The TBSS came with a belt driven electro viscous clutch that was run off of the PCM. However I swapped out the E40 pcm and went to the E38 to run a 6L90. Does anyone know if the E38 can run the electro viscous fan clutch? IOr if I shift to a manual fan clutch does anyone have suggestions on compatibility. I assume I can pull one off of any Vortec motor?

Thanks,
Whit

Any LS equipped truck fan clutch will work and be way more reliable.

Not sure why a belt drive would flow more than an electric considering max speed is limited by RPM. Electric is full speed all the time. Lincoln Mark VIII fan will cool almost anything.

Don't even consider that electro-clutch fan.

Factory LS electric fans will outcool and manual driven fan you could to put on there. It will cool better when you're towing, and you're engine won't work as hard as it would when it's warm and that fan clutch locks up, so it will tow better too.

Agreed. I don't see any advantage in any application whatsoever for a belt driven fan.

There is a reason why the LS2s that went into the Trailblazer SS had belt driven fans. The factory knows they pump more air and so do the guys at Ron Davis. Here's there direct quote they gave me when I tried to buy their fan setup, " If it was my truck, I wouldn't run electric fans. Low speed under load, 4 wheeling, towing it might run hot. A mechanical fan will move way more air than any electrics." And this is the dual 16" monster fan setup they were comparing to:
