Default old 4l60e

I have a 93 chevy I'm swapping a 6.0 in. I already have it bolted to the trans and sitting in with some adapters I made.
My question is can the pcm be tuned to run an older 4l60e.
The tranny is from the 93 silverado, and the 6.0 is from an 02 2500 cable throttle.
I understand the harness can be modified or i can buy one with a 4l60e connector. Just wondering if its possible. I have done a search and came up only with incomplete answers.
I've even called a few tuners and i get a not so reassuring answer.

NO

That's about as complete as your gonna get. The 93 4L60E is basically a 700R4 with partial electronic control. I beleive you would need a 95 or 96 and newer. Only option is to either swap to a newer trans or get a stand along computer for it.

I've searched around for a newer 4l60e and an 80e... does anyone know what the difference in lengths are between reg cab and ext cab truck trannys. Or is there any difference at all?
I want to keep the stock driveshaft, so what should i be looking for?
Thanks,

A 4l60e would be the same length no matter what vehicle it came in. So it wouldnt matter between an ext cab and reg cab truck the tranny case is the same length. Good Luck!

PS I remember reading somewhere where the 4l80e's were actually shorter in length then the 4l60e. Dont qoute me on that, but if thats the case then I'd stick with the newer
4l60e since it would be a basic bolt in swap.

93 F-bods had the 4L60 still, trucks got the E

Howell can program the ecm for the 93-96 60E and also modify the harness. lsxyj has a 93 60E behind an 01 5.3 in his Jeep and it works as it should.
