Default Fuel System Mayhem!

As much as I try to keep it simple....my brain just isnt getting it.

The LS1 is going in a street rod so shine is a must for me.

I'm trying to design my fuel system so I can upgrade later. Using a custom aluminum fuel cell. Have a Tanks universal EFI pump kit (Walbro 255lph). I have figured this out so far. I can use a single fuel pump for now with -06 AN to the front. And upgrade to a double easily later if I exceed the flow of the 255.

What has my head spinning is trying to figure out a rail and regulator setup that will handle upgrades later.

Two options:

Using Aeromotive (Platinum) Fuel rail (-08 AN)

1: MagnaFuel MP9925-B dual -08 in (covert to -06 for dual pumps)
Blocking off the other side of fuel rail. Using the -06 return on
regulator back to tank. Why are these things pink? Yuck. Think I can
polish the anodized finish off?

2: Aeromotive A1000-6 (I'm not sure if I'm going turbo/supercharger)
regulator -single in/single out ....as a return only on one end of
fuel rail. This unit has -06 in/out/return. Will feed the other side of
fuel rail with a single -06 in from pump (but later incorporate a Y
block with -06 in/-06 in/-08 out.... to add the 2nd pump) I'll just
off the outlet on the regulator and use the -06 return back to tank.

The reason I ask....I was told to regulate on the return side of fuel rail only but isnt that the whole point of a regulator with return? Both ways should work...correct?

Thanks,
Dave G

Most popular way is to regulate the FP AFTER the rails.
Either feed 1 rail, use a x over hose, and then the 4th rail connection to 1 side of the reg, w/ the return, [bottom port] to the tank.
Really hi HP??
Feed each rail w/ -6 or -8, then tie the other 2 ends of the rails to the regulator side ports, and the bottom to the tank.
Dual intanks w/ -8 to a y block, to the rails, will feed most any engine that's a true street animal....

I'm guessing with the top most set-up....I'd block the outlet side of the port then? And like you said....use the bottom port of regulator for return to tank.

I can see how the middle one will work...I think. But dont you have to use the inlet side of regulator for it to be regulated. Scratching my head. I think it makes sense.

BTW.....thumbs up for the Grand Nationals!! Miss mine.

Thanks,
Dave G

Use a Corvette fuel filter/regulator hidden back by the tank and then you don't need a return line

Yes. If you use the first method, you just block the unused side of the reg. The bottom remains as the return.

You could put the reg before the rails, but I think the tech guys at Aeromotive would advise against it. [I usually talk to Brett Clow @ tech.]
Here's a link to some drwgs, and alot of other info on the Aero products.

As for the Vette reg.. That's ok, IF you don't need the adjustability. If you are going forced induction, I'd surely recommend the Aero type reg, etc.
FWIW, my GN made 850@ the FW.. All with the Aeromotive pieces, and is totally streetable... But then, it's only a v-sicks.
