Best cam for carb
Best cam for carb Let your opinions fly. I have a 04 lq4 in a 88 iroc looking for cam rec. Its a street car w/4.10s 28" tires 700r4 until trans breaks. Also on the bottle 150 shot. Or talk me into keeping it injected it's not a done deal have everything to do either.

Obviously keeping it fuel injected would allow for more tunability but if carbs are your preference then go with what your gut tells you. Now on to your question about cams. If you are primarily going to run it on the bottle I would suggest something in 228-236 range in regards to duration. With a good set of springs, locks and retainers you should be able to spin it to 6500 safely while making good torque down low. I would suggest possibly coming down a 3.73 if you plan to spray it to utilize as much of the torque as possible but please keep in mind that these are just opinions and we all know what those can be like. I'd talk to Futral Motorsports http://www.futralmotorsports.com/, they designed a custom cam for my applications, told them I was going to use N20 and my head flow numbers and how radical I wanted it to be and they grinded me a cam to fit my applications
Something with a smal LSA (110 area) works well with the carbs tyle intake too. I'm running the cam in my rig, it makes massive power above 3000rpm but below it its a little tempermental to tune.
