LS1 mounts Starting the build on a 40 ford......I am wondering how the LS1 mounting pads compare to other SBCs. Are they located in the same place on the block, and for that matter, are there significant differences in the block dimensions?

call Street and Performance. They have mount plates that bolt to the LS1 block, enabling you to use SBC mounts in the same spot as old SBC. The stock mounts on LS1's are farther back on the block.
