How is the A/C pump lubricated?

There is diff . viscosities of PAG , I think 150 is what you need.
You could use ester oil(diff. a/c oil),
it is all the same & not as hydroscopic.
It is a "generic" oil so take it as such.
Dont think you'll be able to use it for nothing else ,it is dependant upon refrigerant to move the oil around.
If oil where just layin' in there it wont lube it properly. It will eventually fail.
Think it will last?
