it shouldnt be too hard. this is a vid of something similar. its a 87 caprice with a carb'd 6.0 lq9 and a 700r4. this is what the guy said on another forum

the car has a LQ9 6.0 out of an escalade, and down here in "MIAMI" we call this body of caprice a "BOX" so thats why they call it "BOXCALADE"... anyways the motor is COMPLETELY stock except for the edelbrock cam part # 2216, and of course the performer rpm intake 750 holley & and only a 150 shot of nitrous(to get 4000lbs out the hole!) the tranny is a 700r4, a 2500 stall converter and a 4:56 posi rear and a dirty motor! THATS IT! check out some my races on youtube"BOXCALADE" let me noe wat u think...

hope that helps you get started in the right direction

Your 02' motor should be in the 9-10:1 cr, you can use your stock truck oilpan if the clearance isn't an issue to you or you can opt for a modified f-body oilpan or the new lh8(hummer h3) oilpan. As far as mounts go, pick your poison, there are several companies that make them, I personally chose the S&P mounts and modified f-body oilpan, and they also make the g-body lsx headers. To keep the trans and converter you will need to order the adapter plate from either GM or http://store.summitracing.com/partde...w=64&N=700+115

This should get you started.
