Default A few random 5.3 swap questions...

Car in question is my 95 3.8 camaro...

Why do I have to change all my accessories? What can I keep?

What year specific sensors should I worry about? Depends on what year PCM I go with? What year specific parts should I get?

Why do I need to change the stock exhaust manifolds over to LS1 manifolds?

I would use all LS1 F-Body Accessories for the 5.3l, you may have to Drill and Tap the Drivers side of the Block for one of the Alternator Bracket Bolts.

The only thing that I had found to be year-specific was the 1998 Temp Sensor for the Gauges and the PCM. It's a 3-wire Sensor. For me it works without a problem. I used an '02 PCM with a 1999 Harness. It's not really a 1999 Harness any more, but that's what it started out as.

Are the Truck Exhaust Manifolds the same as the Car?

Get Headers..

I'm on a budget, if they'll work, I'll use them

Truck and fbody manifolds are different manifolds are different.

Im in the process of this exact swap except my car is a 99, there no such thing as budget with this, SO many parts are needed. Be ready to drop some coin.
