I have a pedal from a C5 corvette and a tac module from my engines harness out of a 06 tahoe. can I make it work with the truck tac module. if I grind one locator tab off on the conector it will plug into the pedal but I dont want to damage anything trying it.

I'm building something right now that has a c5 pedal, harness and tac module. I can tell you that the wires are straight through to the pedal. You should be able to put a meter across pin 1 on the connector and pin 1 on the other end and see a short.
The C5 pedal pin outs with the key in the on position:
C1:
pin a = Low ref- 0v
pin b = Low ref- 0v
pin c = Sensor 2 signal- 2-4v varies with throttle movement
pin d = 5 volt ref- 5v
pin e = 5 volt ref- 5v
pin f = Sensor 1 signal-.5-2.2v varies with throttle movement
pin g = 5 volt ref 5v
pin h not used
pin j = Low ref- 0v
pin k = Sensor 3 signal-2.5-4v varies with throttle movement
As far as the Truck Tac I don't have the schematics. I suppose you could measure the output of the tac at those pins if they're the same then you should be good...
