Default what size fuel line ?

my 5.3 is from a 06 tahoe and has the returnless system, the line on the motor looks to be about 3/8. I want to run braided hose from the tank to the motor. what size line should it be. I bought all the conectors and some an6 line but it looks a little small. would an6 be ok?

If you currently have 3/8" ?.. AN -6 hose would be the size to use. You should be good with the AN -6 unless your going to use some big power adders.

I wouldn't run braided hose the whole way. Run as much hardline as possible.

I am just trying to elimnate as many conections and possible leak points as possible. the truck may only be driven 1500 miles a year. stainless braided should be abrasion resitant and also not swell under pressure. am I thinking wrong?

Most of the braided rubber hoses that are used on race car will eventually swell and start to "sweat." If you are going to rub braided line, then use the Teflon lined style, not rubber. Abrasion resistance is not really a big issue. Most new cars use plastic lines. The braided line can actually saw through anything that it might be touching if it is vibrating against it.

if your your only driving around 1500 miles a year then vibration wont be much of an issue. but i would still use hard line for under the the truck.
