Thirdgen fbody ls1 swap headers
Thirdgen fbody ls1 swap headers okay, so i know that hawks thirdgen is making swap tubes' for the thirdgen fbody, but they are expensive. i currently have sbc headers fabbed up to the ls1 flange for my headers. this setup is only temporary, but it seems that the alternatives are few and far between.
Is there someone out there who has tryed other headers?
I mean like, 04-06 GTO shorty headers, hell even 4th gen fbody headers, what about 4thgen shorties? i thought i may have read somewhere that someone was running newer model Ls1 shorty headers in there thirdgen, but i could be wrong.
i think the best thing would to be able to get a picture and dimensions of said headers, beside headers that we know fit. it may help. anyone else have any input?

4th gen ones won't fit and if you're thinking of shorties then just run the stock manifolds there is no gain. Some people were running fox body mustang headers converted IIRC but they were shorties as well. Best bet is to take the hooker super comps and convert them to ls1 flange or just make your own.

Ditto. Nothing 4th gen will fit in the way of long tubes. If you want long tubes your only two choices are custom/modified headers, or hawks/stainless works headers.
If you dont want to do the work or fork over the money you're looking at using the stock manifolds. No reason to buy shorties unless you want them to look prettier than the factory pieces.

i had them on my swap when i 1st put it in.
i had to beat a tube a lil bit on the passenger side, but the drivers side was a direct fit.
this is with a pa racing k member.
all depends on the design of the k member and what mounts you use.
ive done it, but it may not be repeated easily.
i cant say.
id love some 1 7/8 myself!
if you have a tube k member, the 1st gen camaro hooker headers look like they would fit decent, as a TBSS header from kooks.
nothing else looks even close.
run your hookers with the modded flanges, i dont see it being any benefit to buy a direct fit header, unless you are looking for stainless.
