Default 6L80 shifter

Has anyone sorted out the shifter options for this trans? I am planning to put an LS2/6L80 combination in my 66Nova. Any/all help would be appreciated.

Take a look here:

3 different shifters are tried.

Also some more searches on 6L80 or 6L90 will pop up some more info.

The GTO or G8 style of shifter is reasonably straightforward, but in my 68 Camaro 6L90e swap, I chose to build a shifter that was a smaller version of the G8 style, which is simply a shaft with an arm reaching down to operate the shift rod on the 6L80/90, and bolted an old style Hurst auto shifter to the top.

Your Nova is no doubt just as compact as the 68 Fbody, so maybe fabbing one is a way to go too.

Some people are using stock Camaro shifters with cables too!

Cheers.
