Default 99 fbody k member bolt problems

Pulling the k memeber in a 99 fbody I broke one of the bolts its the farthest back one on the drivers side, the short one. I broke clean off, I tried drilling it and using an easy out, but I just broke the easy out inside the bolt, theres nothing left to grab on to and I have no idea what to do now, I need this thing out so I can put the new k member, engine and trans in.

Please help!

That's going to be a bitch to get out with the easy out broken off inside the bolt. They are hardened and virtually impossible to drill out.

What has worked every time for me as long as the bolt has broken flush with the body is weld a washer to the broken bolt then weld a nut to the washer, that gives you something to turn and it also gets heat in the broken bolt. If it's broken inside the body some, you may be able to build it up with weld then do the washer/bolt trick.

I'm not real familiar with that body style, but you may be able to access the broken bolt by making a hole saw cut from the side or the floor if it goes back that far and grab the bolt from the inside and turn it the rest of the way in till it's out then chase the mount hole with a tap to clean the threads.

I've used both of these methods in removing broken body mount bolts on trucks I lift.

Good luck.
