Oil pan recommendation
putting a 6.0 ltr gen 4 L76 (with t56 trans) into a shelby cobra kit car and need to change or modify the oil pan to get enough ground clearance at the front end of the sump.
can any body recommend a stock oil pan that is shallower at the front end while still allowing enough clearance for the chassis crossmember?
i am attaching a pic of what mine looks like and where the member sits, as well as the area that has to be shallower (circled). i think i will need to raise this point about 20mm or so (give or take).
I was told recently that i could just drop in a corvette c5 or similar to get the clearance, but i am not sure. Can the corvette pan be flipped around ?
It looks like the deepest part of the corvette pan is at the transmission end - which is exactly where i need the most clearance to get over the chassis.
thanks in advance

Here's a few pics of the pan. You can take a look around the links in my sig or PM me with any questions.

I don't think the C5 "batwing" oilpan would work. The fins might not fit no matter what direction you bolt it in. Have you tried looking into an Fbody pan? I think they're shallower. That might give you the clearance you're looking for...

In perth Western australia we have to have a min of 100mm ground clearance under the car to comply with licensing requirements.
And my estimations of where the sump will sit puts it at around 80mm or less.
(when the car is just resting there - so if i happen to go over a bumb or speed hump the likelyhood of ripping it out is pretty high)
the only alternative (and what it seems i will have to do) is to either get the existing sump cut and modified, or get a new custom sump.
i noticed that quite a few of the oil pans on that page would probably work . . . if they could be flipped around.
just to clarify something regarding those sumps, is the 'flat end' always the transmission end? (so most of the oil pans are a rear sump kid of arrangement)
and can they be easily flipped around if needed?
This implying you set your ride height at 4" to 4.5" and need the pan to be flush with the bottom of the 4" tubes.
