Default List for a donor vehicle.

Would anyone care to tackle a list of items I would need from a 2005 or newer Chevy 2500hd donor vehicle.

I plan on swapping the 6.0 & 4L80E into my 85 Grand National. I would like to keep the A/C and cruise control. I would also like to incorporate the factory truck guages and a/c control unit into the dash of the GN if at all possible.

This will be Turbocharged with a PT 75mm of some sort. Details to be hammered out.

Also, if you have any recommendation on the trans x-member, engine mounts, or accessories ie. altenator, power steering pump and rack, and a/c compressor, please don't be shy.

This will be a budget build. However, I am fully aware it costs quite a bit of coin to build a turbo V8. But I was always told " the way you eat an elephant is one bite at a time".

Thanks,

Joe

This isn't a complete list but here;s a few things I'd think about-

Wiring harness complete and uncut including the fuse box
PCM
TAC module, harness and pedal assembly (make sure these and the PCM come off the same truck)
Electronic throttle
Radiator and condenser
fuel lines
fuel pump assembly
MAF and air inlet elbow
Accessories - unless you are going F-body for hood clearance
Power steering and AC hoses (you might need the ends to make custom hoses)
Engine and transmission mounts - don't know if you need them

If you are not going to use an electronic throttle, you will need another PCM with the drivers in it for IAC and a throttle body complete

I would get engine and tranny cooler lines, I did not have them in my swap.

Headers? not sure since you are doing turbo,

O2 sensors

shifting linkage (just in case it will line up.)

Great! Now were talking.

I plan on incorporating the factory guages so having the fuel pump assembly including the sending unit is a great idea.

You had mentioned a TAC module. Is that the controller for the transmisssion?

You had also mentioned the Electronic throttle. Besides the pedal and the throttle body is there something else that fits in there as well?

Thanks,

Joe
