Carb and/or MSD6010 tuning...
Hi All,
I got my Maverick up and running, replaced the rear main seal and fixed a leaking trans cooler fitting today but developed a "new" coolant leak. It's always something... The motor is an '03 Corvette 350HP with a Torquer v.2 cam (with related valve gear), plus a Victor, JR and Holley#82751 750 mechanical secondary double pumper.
I can't get this thing to idle lower than 1200 w/o stalling out. Of course, I haven't really started tuning yet. I did try more idle and off-idle timing, but that did nothing as far as idle quality. Will tuning the idle screws help? I'll have to dig out some old Holley manuals and get playing. I do have a wideband O2 setup, can that be used to tune the idle instead of vacuum readings?

on my C3 with th350... I idle about 900-1000
Tune with mixture screws and then idle screws
with mixture turn them in...when the motor starts to change screw it back out a half turn.

i run 22 degrees of timing at 1000rpm and 28 total for now. my curve starts at 0 rpm at 12 degrees and is a straight line to 1000rpm. That cam will like a lot of base timing as well. Then hook up the wideband and a vacuum gauge and tune for best idle vacuum on a warm engine in gear. My carb is 3/4 turn out on all 4 corner idle mixture screws. Idles 1000rpm in gear nicely.
