Default drive by wire question

I am installing a 4.8 liter 4L60 from a 2004 chevy truck into a 1967 camaro 327 4 speed car. How hard is going to wire the drive by wire? Should I switch the intake to a LS1 style drive by cable?

Some like the drive by wire so they can run the CC .I have it on my new truck and I like it. I will run it on my swap into a 72 S Bed..

If your harness and PCM is already drive by wire, it would be easiest to stay that way. You'll need the TAC module, jumper harness, and pedal assembly from the donor or at least the same year as the doner.

Im not sure about 2004 but some of the later PCMs don't have drivers in them for the cable throttle so you have to get another PCM if you want to go cable. You'd also need to modify the harness (or buy one) to have the discrete connectors for the IAC, IAT, TPS.

Good luck

Default drive by wire question

Thanks for the help. Is it hard to wire and mount the pedal from the donor vehicle into the camaro to remain drive by wire?

The jumper harness from the pedal to the TAC is about 2 feet long and has a grommet that closes out a 1.5 - 2.0 inch hole into the firewall.

You could probably go through a lot smaller hole to the engine bay if you de-pinned the connector and reconnected it on the other side of the firewall. Probably a 3/8" hole in a smaller grommet.

My pedal assemby is going in a Jag, so I can't answer your question about a Camaro. I'm going to have to modify mine - I'm not anticipating it to be too difficult
