dont discount the lowly 4.8 and 5.3's
they have a lot of potential as well, my stock 4.8 hit 280k miles now.
it pulls as hard as new, no leaks.
im glad to say i would rather build a bolt ons 4.8 with a th350 over a lt1

I'd go LSx and not look back. I've owned an LT1 car before. While it was a fun car I wouldn't think about putting it in anything else..
