First fire attempt a dud :P
So i tried to start up the LS1 in my 85 monte ss this am and seems i have no fire, would like to run down what fires are needed to be hooked up etc,
PCM is from a 2002 Ws6 Have all clips hooked up except the oil level sensor seeing a 08 hummer pan does not have one,
as far as BCM wires go i have...
12Volt ign wires..
pin 2 blue block
pin 39 Red block
BATT +
pin 20 Blue block
pin 57 blue block
Grounds
PIN 1 blue block
Pin 40 blue block
Pin 1 red block
pin 40 red block
hopefully ive got something dorked up quick fix wise,
No other BCM wires are hooked up ex 3 plugs that contrl fans etc, or the 2 clips that run inside that are vats and obd 2 related,
VATS is still currently hooked up and not bypassed. waiting on bought module to come, but should still fire for few secs correct??
Questioning what i have for 12 volt ign wires, got the diagram off the sticky here, and there labled as 12 volt reference wires,, should they be hooked to a 12v ign source?

I'm going to assume you mean PCM and not BCM, but anyway, when you say 12volt ign wires, pin 2 blue block and pin 39 red block, what did you do to them? You shouldn't have had to do anything with them, Blue pin 2 goes from the pcm to the crank sensor, and red pin 39 goes to the cam sensor, you don't hook power to them.

pulled plugs no scent of gasoline on them, unsure if ive had spark either, small discolerations on prong but not enough markings to be 100% sure, would need buddy system to hook wire up and crank and visual look for spark, i guess im still leaning on wiring,

If you have a timing light I would use that, I did... usually they have a long enough cord to reach inside.
To check power, w/ the key on pull a plug off your coil and put your test light to the power wire, IIRC it's red... if you don't have power there start working your way back. Same thing w/ the injectors... pull the plug of your injector and see if you have power to it, remember PCM only provided the ground, so you should have power to the injector.

Gotcha!! I was questioning that wire but the simple nomenclatures of alot of teh wires are confusing to what they actualy need to be, like my 2 i had flubed up above labeled as 12 volt reference on the sticky diagram i found here, imo is confusing.. i prefer what they actualy do.. need power/ground where they go etc, not that im complaining about free help but just lil confusing, sounds like the culprit tho hope it works, cant wait to here it run,

ok, got everything wired as shown, still no spark, put timing light on it to check...
last question about wires ive done so far... the grounds 1 40 1 40 are hey suposed to be cut and grounded or they just shown as grounds for sensors etc and not suposed to been tampered with??
ive currently got all 4 pcm grounds tied on a small board all grounded

ok, ive got then tied into the same grounds as the original monte carlos harness had for grounds on back of cylinder head... so.. everything checks out.. im at work now ill check coil and injector power when i get home, any possible components that could be working against me?? Bad PCM cam or crank sensor??

just to re clarify, have BLUE pins 1 and 40 off PCM grounded and RED pins 1 and 40 Grounded off PCM Checked grounds from each pin off the pcm harness to actual grounding point. all good...
2 orange HOT at all time wires to pcm are hot at pins,
#19 Pink 12 volt ign is hot at pin with key on,
when all hooked up, NO power at injectors or coils... ????.... Bad pcm???

Ok, it sounds like you've got the PCM power and grounds hooked up right, but the wires that power up the coils and injectors are seperate from the PCM. You're going to have to find them and hook power to them when the key is on. The PCM only grounds the coils and injectors, so it's unlikley that it's bad just because you're not getting power to them. It's been a while since I wired an LS1 but the wires you're looking for will be on one of the plugs that don't go to the PCM, but rather plugged into the original car's wiring harness. They will be pink, or pink/white, that's what you need to look for. The easiest way to find them will probably be to find those wires you think might be them, and check for continuity between them and the wires at the coil/injector plugs with a volt meter. I hope this isn't too confusing, as nI know what I'm trying to say, but sometimes it looses something in translation.

Also, make sure these pink wires get 12v+ DURING CRANKING. Some key 12v+ sources will turn off during cranking...double check that.

sweet deal, ill look in the haynes manual i have for the cab wiring, and yeppers, for my main 12v ign im using the original montes big pink wire that would feed hei off key during cranking, i have that fed to a small lil 5 term circuit board on firewall with tiny jumpers that feed every terminal on top row, therefor you have a whole 2nd row on bottom for 12v power hookup for my line lock ect,

Shes alive!! There are 4 wires, 2 in each clip that control left and right banks, powered them all and fired right off Just need the VATS box i ordered and i should be good to go for breaking it in thanks everyone for bearing with me
