Hot floor pan!
Hot floor pan! Now that I finally got the radiator hoses on, I was able to run a bit longer. After 4-5 minutes of running, the floorpans got really hot...melted a ziplock bag lying on the floor board! Normal???

well now you know why factory cats have heat shields around them.... they super heat the exhaust, burning the contaminants out of it
I'd seriously consider building some sort of heat shield for the cats, or you are going to have more issues

Good idea to put heat shields around the cats, but you also need to get rid of the rich condition. The more unburned fuel getting into the exhaust, the more the Cats will need to "convert" or burn off thus making more heat. If you let that condition continue I think you may risk ruining the Catalytic converters. Any idea why it is running so rich? Do you have the O2 sensors hooked up? Have you done any reprogramming?

I have the front 02 sensors installed. As far as the PCM goes, I've deleted unused items, turned off vats...but other than that I haven't done any tuning.
I noticed my FP gauge bouncing around a little bit, anywhere from 40-50psi when I blip the throttle.
I have a new Rick's Tank with pump, new corvette filter regulator. I even pulled the injectors and cleaned them (they're the L59 flex injectors). The engine/injectors only have 400miles on them.
I'm starting to run out of possible causes...

What is your engine Temp reading ?... to much advance in the timing or a lean condition in the mixture will also cause excessive heat (I burned up one Cat on my Van running with a lean condition to long). Going the shield route is just a band aid.. you got a problem somewhere else..

The front two sensors are switch high/low as they should. My temp gets to around 190F (180stat installed). The plugs are really rich when I pull them out.

You need to determine the cause of the rich condition and correct that.
Then, you should use one of the heat shield products from Thermotec
They have a variety of products that you can use under the car to deflect heat to keep it out of the passenger compartment.

^ Ya im with him about figureing it out. Man all of our cars and most all cars have the exaust an inch or two away from the floor in places with no shielding..

1 Timing is somehow way to high and exploding the fuel mixture after it enters the exaust
2 you have some sort of restriction like the cats are stopped up and your just build all the heat up before hand.
3 bent/burned exhaust valves.
4 Your running SO rich its burning the unburned fuel in the exhaust system
Again these are just examples.

You need to do the IFR table. The Injector flow rate table. Stock injectors are 28lbs, not sure what those are, but they are most likely bigger. The pcm is telling the injectors to open up X amount. If you have an injector that flows more fuel and its opening up the same as the smaller injector, then its going to dump more fuel. You can find a table on here that will help you to get the numbers right, assuming you know what size the injectors are.
