steering fluid cooler Hello everyone.. I am in the process of installing my power steering pump. My engine (Fparts) came with the cooling tube for the fluid but I don't know if I want to install it or not. (hooks into radiator hose) What are the benifits to installing it? It is going in a C3 vette if that makes a difference. Also, I sent out a message asking for any guidence on the throttle body cooling tube. I am still a little confused, can I put that tube directly into my overflow Reservoir??? Will it just force out any air pockets or does it accually draw in fluid. If you were me, where would you put this thing?

I used the fluid cooler but I don't know if it is needed. I think the f-bodies had some failures of rack and pinions caused by overheated fluid so thus the coolers. The throttle body doesn't need coolant flowing through it but the lines that come to it from the heads need to be hooked into the pressurized part of the cooling system so coolant can flow through, not to the overflow tank. The lines need to go higher than the heads so traped air can escape from the system. The reason for this is since coolant doesn't flow thru the intake like on older models, the steam vent tubes in the heads are now the highest part of the engine cooling system. Hope this helps.
