Default ls1 id

I've read all the posts I can find here and can't id this engine for sure. On the pass. sideof the block where the head sits is a number that starts with a V or a U then,FO40221732.Seems lazer etched. Is this a number for a gto engine. It's supposed to be 2004. It has the ls6 block number and the heads are stamped 241. Also the intake has the ls6 part number on it. Also is there anyway to match this number to a vin number. Thanks in advance. Alex

base on the info you've given your derivative vin should be 24Lxxxxxx

Thanks I will try it. I thought I looked there. I take it this number is on the side of the block where the bh bolts up but on the drivers side?
