Best T-56 Solution / Ideas?
My T-56 has problems, the Only used thing in my entire project, figures.
I'm weighing all the possibilities from rebuild to buying a New one. Any info about sources, good pricing would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Guys

Since you already have a T56, probably the cheapest route is to get a full rebuild. When I was shopping for transmissions, I was told by mutliple shops that the early T56 transmissions are simply not as reliable as the later models. If you go through a reputable shop you can get a full rebuild for ~$1500 that will correct a lot of the early model's shortcomings. Should have a better than new trans when they are done.
If you go new, look seriously into the new T56 magnums. This is the new version they are putting in the new LS cars like the Camaro. Suppose to be much stronger and shift like silk. The aftermarket ones have the choice of mechanical or electronic speedo outputs. Here is a link.

You could probably get arouind $800-$1000 for your used T56 even selling it honestly.
here is another web site with lots of good information. They are pretty helpful guys on the phone too.
