vacuum lines

can someone tell me about the lines I can get rid of, like the line from the pass side exhaust manifold to some elec. thing and to intake manifold. I have headders

what engine are you working with?.. but most likely it is the EGR or AIR system, if your doing a non-Smop swap, you can get rid of both system and use block off or weld shut.

Thanks bczee, it a 98 LS1 from a firebird going in 39 ford body on hotrod jim corvette frame. and i'm old school chevy. this is my frist mod with ls1, LOT TO LEARN.

No problem there.. I am old school too.. My chevelle was my 1st try at doing a EFI and LSx swap.. but I got through it ok with the help of this site. To me.. a swap is a swap.. doesn't matter what engine it is.. back in the day.. we just did about anything and anyway we could.. now adays.. everyone want the simple way or someone to do it for them..

If you are not worried about emissions/smog testing and don't need the EGR system and the AIR system to pass your state safety inspection, you can probably remove the EGR and AIR systems... and maybe even the EVAP system. However, you definitely want to keep your PCV system.
