Default Help 4l60e 5.3

Hi,
I was wondering if a 5.3 4L60E trany internals are the same as a 5.7 or 6.0 (LQ4-LQ9) 4L60E?

The LQ4/9 trannys are hard too find. Would the 5.3 auto trany hold up to a stock LQ4/9 ???

Thanks.
Jim

It should hold up to a stock LQ4-9, but the wiring harness is going to be different since the 4l60e has one speed sensor and 4l80e has two. Might be other wiring differences that I can't think of at the moment.

The LQ4/9 never had a 4l60e behind them. The LQ4`s all had 4l80e`s behind them and LQ9`s came with 4l65e`s.

A 60e will bolt up and survive behind a LQ4/9, but keep in mind its not as strong as the stock trans for that motor, so it will probably shorten the lifespan. Maybe not drastically, but it might not last as long.

Yes there are wiring differences between the 60e and 80e, a look at the FAQ sticky will lead to a link that highlights those.

I thought the same thing but the LQ4 had the 4l65 in the H2's. And the early denails and C3's had the LQ4 and 4l65.
