MSD 6010 dudes- MAP table?
I did some searching on the subject, but didn't find what I was looking for. I'm trying to see what other people have done with their MAP table as far as how much advance and where it comes in. My combo is a stock 2002 LS1 with a TREX cam and a Holley 750. Been tuning on it, but am still getting some pinging on the big end. I've currently got 12* initial, 22*@1000 RPM, and 28* all in at 3000 RPM. Seems right for what I'm doing, but the MAP keeps adding too much timing. Can anyone shed some light on what they have found to be right? TIA, Dave

Theoretically, you want it to add a little timing in the part throttle cruise areas and during deceleration.
Don't add any on the high rpm/high load areas, and don't add any at idle. Although, most big cam LS1s like timing at idle(20-24*)...Your's may idle better if you bring you idle timing up to at least 18-20.

max timing control
This may not be an elegant solution but you can go to the setup menu and set the total amount of timing allowed to the number you like, so the timing map will add whenever it is told to but never go over your total timing limit set. I tried this approach and got rid of the annoying detonation that occured at specific driving loads. Motor definitely pulls harder with less over advance.
